Better Brief - making websites work

We proudly use an open-source Content Management System (CMS), Silverstripe, as a base to build exceptional web applications.

By using an open-source CMS we do not have to spend vital time developing our own. Savings made are then passed onto you - meaning you get a superior product at a reduced price. The following aspects are particularly important to us:

  1. The CMS has no on-going costs - you do not pay a license fee for free software.
  2. The CMS is secure - SilverStripe CMS was audited by the FBI before it could be used for the US Democratic Convention website. The CMS is used for over 20,000 websites globally and any security flaws are quickly resolved.
  3. The CMS is mature – it has been developed over a period of 5 years and is used as the flagship product of Silverstripe Ltd in New Zealand.
  4. The CMS is modular – many modules, for instance forums, blog, diary/calendar system and a Flickr photo stream – are available as modules. Although time is taken installing them, it is greatly reduced in comparison to building them from scratch.
  5. The CMS is open and documented – although all your code and data is secure, if you wish for another developer to add functionality, you will not be tied to us. The CMS is well-documented and can be expanded on easily.
  6. The CMS is tested – the framework, modules and security have all been tested by other users throughout the world so you can be sure that your site won’t break after a week of use.
